#1 Boutique Hearts 16" x 16" mixed media on canvas

I’ve been busy lately, making some new paintings for a collection I’m going to call Boutique Hearts.

There’s going to be 17 paintings altogether and I only have 5 ready, so still quite a lot to do!  I’m planning to have them all ready before the end of January, Just in time for Valentine’s day.

So far, I‘ve made 2 paintings with a turquoise background, with a lovely rich chocolate brown colour and some shiny metallic gold acrylic paint.  The inspiration for this colour palette came from a plastic bag advertising Metaxa Brandy.  I think the colours look lovely together. What do you think?

I’m amazed at what inspires me sometimes!

I also love painting with cream, chocolate, gold and tan colours, It makes me think about the wonderful aroma of freshly ground coffee and the taste of silky smooth chocolate, yummy!

These three are nearly ready. They remind me of boxes of luxury chocolates.

I think the frame effect on the canvas looks pretty good. What do you think of this technique?  I’d love to know your opinion.  Leave me a comment or send me an email if you like.

If you want to know how to get this framed look on one of your paintings,  I’ll be posting a video tutorial next week to show you exactly how you can create the same effect!

I’ll also post it to my FB page so you can watch it there if you prefer.

Have a wonderful Day!
